The Willows

A new edition of Algernon Blackwood's quintessential horror novella, The Willows, originally published 1907 in his larger collection The Listener and Other Stories -- considered by many critics, including H.P. Lovecraft, to be the finest supernatural tale in English literature. It is one of Blackwood's best known works and most influential works within the genres of horror and "weird" fiction. Algernon Blackwood (1869-1951) was an English journalist, novelist, and short-story writer, remembered as one of the most prolific and most celebrated writers of ghost, horror, and "weird" stories during the early 20th century. Among his most popular works are the novellas The Wendigo, The Willows, the novel The Centaur, the John Silence stories, and his collection Incredible Adventures, considered by some critics to be the "premier weird collection of" all time.
