That purpose was to heed Conrad’s words in the many Volumes he had compiled, and search out the truth behind Edward’s reason for existence - a truth that would both define his life, but also alter the very face of the City itself.With the help of a creature, called the Rook, Edward searches the City for the Volumes he is tasked with finding - the truth is laid there, within those Volumes, if Edward has only the eyes to see it. Yet first he needs to grow, so that the words might make sense.
