In the first book in the series, the Second Stage, we saw Kevin and Lucy help bring Ray White to justice. In the second book, Playing God, they unknowingly befriend Jack. They soon learn Jack was Ray’s drug dealer. Jack is in a coma after a drug overdose, his life is in the balance as he flits back and forth between life and death. In a nail biting climax, after discovering Jack’s identity, Kevin switches off Jack’s life support system. In Happy Deathday we find out what happened to Jack and Ray and the eventual showdown.
