When five-year-old Abby Wilkinson disappeared while exploring the carnival’s haunted house, Detective Booger McClain took over the case. It wasn’t long before he determined that the carnival’s owners and workers were less than forthcoming with information he needed to solve the case. Booger’s abrasive manner ran afoul of the local powers that be, and he was fired, but not before he determined that Abby wasn’t the only young female to vanish, there were a multitude of others. The only problem was that Booger no longer had the authority to pursue the case, a fact that ate away at his nature like acid.Abby’s father wasn’t so willing to let the matter end so unsatisfactorily and sought Booger’s help to determine the fate of his young daughter. Booger was not only willing to help but eager to pursue the miscreants he suspected having a hand in Abby’s disappearance. The evil that Booger uncovered as he investigated further into Abby’s fate was worse than anyone could anticipate.
