In the small town of Botte, Louisiana, days are long, and summers are hot. Sheriff Mason Guillot keeps a watchful eye over his little community until an ominous figure from his past returns to haunt him. A military experiment is launched to make soldiers impermeable to biological weapons in hopes of creating a new breed of super-soldier. But then the unthinkable happens. A chemical meant to save lives instead damns an entire community. Mason is stuck in the middle of an outbreak of epic proportions. The dead return to life, and it's up to Mason to save his friends and get out of town. His resolve is tested more than he ever imagined. A chance to redeem himself for his past failures presents itself in the end. It's up to Mason to find the inner strength to win.
