Hercules was once known as the greatest of Heroes, far superior to mighty Achilles or wily Odysseus. His story was one of tragedy and hardship beyond any other and yet in the modern world his tale is often relegated to the bedtime stories of children; wiped clean of all the horrors and hardships endured by the son of Zeus. This modern retelling of the Hercules Myth attempts to redress this grievance and brings Hercules back to us with all the tragedy that made the story of his great labours and journeys a favourite amongst the ancients for so many centuries. His final labour has arrived and Hera has exhausted all use she has for Hercules. To rid herself of the son of Zeus Hera send Hercules down to the house of the dead where he is to bargain with the pitiless Hades for permission to leave again. All is not so simple however for, Hercules must also bring Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld, back to the world of the living in order to spare those he loves from the wrath of the goddess.
