The bridge was virtually abandoned, a decaying remnant of mid-century expansion not even looking safe enough for a few cars to cross it anymore, though some adventurous ones obviously still did. Empty liquor bottles, used condoms and syringes festooned the place like urban blight confetti. Graffiti covered it, mostly band names or proclamations of love that may or may not have already gone astray, but some of it was of a far more sinister variety...
