Most of Rachael’s family has gone home and life should be good, but unfortunately they left Aunt Myrtle and her penchant for getting up to mischief behind. It doesn’t take her long to hook up with two like-minded cronies, Moondance, a local witch, and their talented kleptomaniac neighbor, Dora. Between the three of them, can mayhem be far behind? Of course it can’t. COST, a local church of dubious pedigree, is putting on a play, aptly casting the eccentric trio as MacBeth’s three witches. Between unexplained accidents at the theater, unauthorized wine brewing, and loss of pie privileges at the Pie Goddesses cafe, Rachael is at her wit’s end trying to handle things. To add to her problems, she finds herself pulled into the mystery of Dora’s past. Had the old lady’s shameful brother returned from the grave? If so, did he mean them harm? An old church, a Gothic mansion, and ancient gossip can lead to more blood and thunder than found in Shakespeare’s cursed play. But can Rachael beat the curse? She had better, or, as with Lady MacBeth, there’d be death on her hands.
