The Ghost of Blue Diamond Bay

JT Thomas has issues. He's a 15 year-old with reading disabilities and emotional issues. He was held back a year in school and he has no friends. He has just lost his parents in a skiing accident. His freshman year in high school would be tough enough on a good day. But this is not a good day. He's had to move 800 miles away to live with his grandparents in Blue Diamond Bay, California. It's right after Christmas break and he's never been outside his native state of Utah. Everything in his life is falling apart...until he meets a very smart, very fast-talking redhead named Melanie Madsen and laid-back surfer Howard "Beach" Jackson. All three are freshmen at Pacific Canyon High School. A nasty rumor has been floating around the school for many years that a ghost roams the halls and, if you're smart, you'll never walk those halls at night. It's considered an urban legend by some and a total joke by most, until the three friends discover that the ghost is very real and very alone...and that she desperately needs their help. Time is her enemy and there's not much of it left. Together the friends must turn into detectives to try and solve a very cold case. They must deal with bullies, betrayals, bike crashes, bizarre revelations, and an evil billionaire who is trying to kill them. Along the way, they learn the importance of helping each other, watching each other's backs, and that apparent weaknesses are really hidden strengths. No question that he has tough challenges at school, but they are nothing compared to what awaits JT and his friends when they try to solve the mystery of The Ghost of Blue Diamond Bay.
