Reaper (The Cryptids Book 1)

At only seventeen, Aspen knew all the tricks for making a body look good for a funeral. Mouths sewn shut, eye caps placed to keep the eyes closed, and maybe some mortuary makeup or reconstructive tools if the individual in question had a particularly bad case of livor mortis, was severely decomposed, or had died in some sort of violent manner. It was this extreme comfort with death that made Aspen unique. However, she wasn't prepared to suddenly become the one who led people over that barrier between life and death. Preparing bodies was one thing. Creating bodies was another.
