Crafted around the lyrics of both classic and indie rock songs and the author's original poetry, Ashes to Angels tells the fragmented story of a girl claiming to be an angel fallen from the sky after cutting off her own wings with scissors and a schizophrenic poet who can't distinguish her from his own hallucinatory reality. Their relationship follows a bizarre and ultimately catastrophic progression through a nightmarish sequence of events both real and imagined. As a paranormal dark romance, the story makes subversive comment in poetic meditation on the (im)possibilities of love, the arguably most lethal threat to human existence.
