Lemuel Oathbreaker, loathingly referred to by most as the Red Hand, is a man whose past has been taken from him and kept locked away. The only thing that is left to remind him who he once was is carved upon him in crude, deep, scars and haunting red eyes. Shunned and reviled by almost all, he is nothing more than a mercenary with a more prestigious title: a Knight Errant for the city of Osinbury, capital of Oulea and last bastion for the abhorred Witchborne. When a mysterious contract falls into his lap offering him an amount of coin he cannot refuse, Lemuel is left with little other choice but to accept it and withstand whatever perils he is paid to encounter. He soon finds himself thrust into a rebellion led by an insane but seemingly rightful heir. As he delves deeper into a coup he wants nothing to do with, he comes face to face with his past and the pain and horrors that went along with it. The closer he creeps to the truth, the more he wishes he could keep it forgotten.Like a moth's wings when drawn too close to a flame, the more Lemuel seems to understand himself, the quicker his freedom burns in anguish.
