Levi Silve is a quiet and unassuming man to those who see him in passing. For those who take the time to chat with him, he's anything but that. When Zack and Alang, two friends who have dreamt of attending classes at the University of Minnesota since their freshman year in high school, get their SAT results, they know the dream is over. They go to the mall to commiserate and are discussing their options when a man invites himself into their conversation, offering a book he promises will make all of their dreams come true. All they have to do is willingly accept his offer and tell it what they need.Dwayne and Darius attend a party in a Manhattan apartment complex. When things get out of hand, the two leave as the police are filing into the building. After being confronted by two officers, the friends run and force a resident inside his apartment to escape. When the tenant offers them a way to walk right past the dozens of officers searching for them, they accept.Ron, Blake, Chad, and Mark are friends who don't quite know how to interact with others. When Ron is robbed and chased into a store in the middle of the night, he tells the man inside about all of their problems. The stranger offers him a book that will give them everything--girls, money, even revenge on their boss. When Ron's friends come to pick him up, they accept the offer. They all get what they ask for the first time.They all get what they ask for the first time, but when their books stop waiting for requests and start issuing demands of their own, the men find themselves being forced to do unspeakable things to satisfy the evil they have invited into their lives.
