Five childhood friends, with a shocking secret, escape for a weekend getaway to the Eastern Kentucky coal mining town of Blass, where their world collide with a centuries old legend come to life. A creature roams the mountain accompanied by the Spirit of a slave in search of her long dead infant. Caleb Martin, son of a slave owner, falls in love with Slave girl Maddie, the mother of his child. The ill fated couple decides there is only one way to be together, Maddie must run away with their infant son. Caleb helps his lover escape with a promise to wait for him to join her. The only refuge lies in the belly of the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. The murder of Maddie and their infant son releases a terror on the tiny town of Blass Kentucky, where evil lurks deep in the belly of towering mountains

About the Author

D.K. Mason was born and raised in Harlan County in the Eastern Kentucky mountains, before moving to her adopted state of Georgia which she now calls Home. The author began writing at an early age, beginning with short stories and poetry. Being part of a large family D.K. Mason developed a love for story telling, frightening her audiences with her spooky tales of horror. In her spare time she enjoys retreating to the Georgia Coast for solitude and inspiration for her writing.
