James Kilburn - once a successful author and respectful husband - is a man without fear or concern. After losing all his wealth and happiness he finds himself trapped within the clutches of despair and alcoholism. A now struggling writer, he is unable to delve into his reservoir of literary talent and his mental health weakens with each glass he drinks. Striving to write and open his great wealth of talent, his darker side pushes him further into mental decay. His destructive, manic personality dictates every movement he makes, twisting his world and destroying each path he creates. Dead Inside delves into the sickness oozing from its main character. The book follows his moves and his sanity as he declines further and further into madness. The world around him is distorted and attacked by his subconscious disease. Eventually it is forced into action, bringing a complex, twisting story to an action packed climax.
