Before the winter set in and blocked the pass between the Ebhoman Valley and Kardacia, a small delegation of three high ranking Kardacians came to Mutton to discuss the building of a new road and tunnel through the mountains. Jasmine and Peter were chosen by Carol, Martha and the people of Mutton to survey the mountainous area on the Saggybottom side of Mutton. The Mountainous adventures of Jasmine and Peter would start in the following spring, after the worst of the snow had cleared. They would come across many surprises in the months while they were in the mountains, and learn a lot from Beech and Cedar, their Skabearcou guides, about living in such arduous conditions. In the remote part of the mountains, they find a hidden secret. The expedition ends in great success for Jasmine, Peter, Beech and Cedar; their discoveries going down in history.
