Somewhere in the waters deep,A silly monster goes to sleep,And dreams of making a new friend,To play with until day's end....This is Part 2 of the "Mysterious Pend Oreille Paddler," a humorous rhyming story-poem series about the legendary lake monster from Lake Pend Oreille in North Idaho. It contains 4 line stanzas complimented by vivid illustrations about this goofy, friendly, lonely creature who dwells in the lake, and "debunks" the slanderous lies about the Paddler as a fearsome monster of prey. Part 2 develops a plot involving a girl who swims at City Beach and longs to befriend the Paddler. Some mildly challenging words and sentence structures make it readable for kids around 4th or 5th grade and above, or it can be read to younger ages. It entertains grown up kids too!
