An unexpected letter triggers a psychotic episode in his mother, causing her to attack and humiliate Tom more savagely than ever before. Blinded by rage, and sickened to his core, Tom snaps. He finds that his actions have tragic, generation-spanning consequences, so he turns to the whispers in his head, and listens for a way to rewrite history.
