P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } What if there were proof that human civilization began tens of thousands of years ago. What if there was documentation of the nature of creation the original plan for humanity. What if many of the world’s spiritual traditions could be traced to a common source? And what if there were a hidden power that has sought to suppress this knowledge for millennia?Raptor of Deliverance is a spellbinding series that explores spirituality and the oneness of being, Jennings Baxter’s debut is a mystery thriller of uncommon suspense and intensity. The internet is awash with tales of discoveries old and new related to ancient civilizations, the origins of good and evil, extra terrestrials, dark matter, quantum physics and creative consciousness. What is rare, however, is a cogent theory that accounts for all these disparate pieces in a convincing "story" that can easily be followed without a degree in any of those areas. Baxter draws together many loose ends of history one digestible insight at a time, as his characters seek a rational explanation for what at first seems to be a paranormal event. In this intriguing first installment of a trilogy dealing with ancient civilizations and reincarnation, Baxter delivers a thought provoking journey full of mysticism, altruism, and pure unadulterated evil. Inspired by Agatha Christie’s short story “Hound of Death,” and the work of Edgar Cayce, it explores spiritual concepts that call into question modern belief systems. A fascinating spiritual exploration of our past, present, and potential future, Raptor of Deliverance—Book1 will leave you breathlessly awaiting the second installment. While investigating the effects of civil war and natural disasters on children in Southeast Asia, reporter Richard Pengellis stumbles across the astonishing tale of Mary Catherine, a former child solder turned relief volunteer who singlehandedly destroyed the adult soldiers of a local rebel army—yet harmed none of its children. Now residing in Somerset, England, Mary Catherine, still traumatized by the horrific event, works with Pengellis to uncover the truth of her past. Remembering what happened only in snatches of dreams, Mary Catherine begins to open up to Pengellis, and their growing bond reveals his secrets as well. When she convinces her therapist to hypnotize her, she talks of a city of seven circles and the power of the Raptor of Deliverance, the protective power she used to save the children from the brutal soldiers. She also remembers hints of a mysterious organization that seeks to use it to further an evil agenda that will stop at nothing to learn her secret.
not a topic for the timid. Characters come to life through honest interaction, riveting dialogue, and straightforward description as opposed to introspection. Like the simplicity of the soaring bird and its reflection on the cover, the protagonists are portrayed in an action-oriented setting. This insightful novel, the first of an intended series, offers a glimpse of integrity in a world filled with malicious individuals. The premise may be a bit trite, but Baxter delivers the book from mediocrity by incorporating a fresh twist or two along the way. The supernatural plot proceeds with a sense of direction, despite a tendency to meander into esotericism. Laced with symbolism, Baxter’s writing is fertile with details that invite interpretation. A mysterious tone enhances the reading experience. That said, elements appear that might be better suited to a theological essay, and sometimes feel forced upon the narrative regardless of the truly absorbing nature of the information:
“Hound of Death” by Agatha Christie, Baxter has set the intellectual foundation for a promising sequel. Fans of the psychological thriller will love the style of this debut author. Jennings Baxter explores the frightening prospect of fantastical, mind-controlled weaponry
