Gemma Wilson is recovering from a divorce when she agrees to housesit for friends in the country. Catherine Molloy, who was a school teacher in 1887, asks Gemma to accompany her to the past and find the evidence to bring her killer to justice. Reluctantly Gemma agrees and finds herself in a completely different world - terrified by what lays ahead but eager to put Catherine's spirit to rest.
