Most people live in a relatively safe environment with modern conveniences. Along with his mother, father, and little sister, Drake was born under the protection of the city-state Stonenest in the secluded Aerie plateau. Drake is unique in that he has found a way to even the odds against supernatural enemies who stalk and kill humans. Through a disastrous chain of events, he and his nonhuman best friend are forced to strike out on their own to save the human population from a brutal massacre.The Aerie proves to be a mysterious place, fraught with danger. With ancient killers hot on his heels, Drake meets powerful friends and untrustworthy allies. This adventure stretches across five cities while entangling six races and a slew of both interesting and nefarious predators. Along the way, Drake finds clues about what the Aerie once was and how humans came to be there. Over the course of his journey, Drake must find a way to become as strong as those who fight alongside him or risk losing his home and everyone he grew up with.
