The dead have begun to rise in the streets of Chicago. Unbeknownst, a school trip to the Briggs and Sons Funeral Home find themselves in caught with the dead inside, and outside, of the building. Quickly they come to realize that their only options are to hold up and wait for help, or try to escape to the local police station. Time is running out, and there is no telling if they will survive the morning. All the while a lone John Doe wakes on the other side of life. And finds himself struggling with what has happened and the need to feed. The novel, Chicago Undead Encounters, is a working combination of the short story, Chicago Undead 3: A Bad Way To Start Your Day, and the novella, Chicago Undead 4: Field Trip.
