The Modern Magdalene: The Assembly

Based upon both Biblical and Gnostic accounts, the modern day life, ministry, and death of Mary of Magdala Nunayya is portrayed much the way her life must have been nearly two thousand years ago, surrounded with mystery, violence, ambiguity, and obscurity. In this novella, we find a culture under Roman Catholic rule, filled with hatred, prejudice, and crime who seek a Savior to free them from religious supremacy. Yet once found, he is quickly sought after as as a dangerous religious fanatic who must be executed, or martyred; perhaps reflected quite closely with the era of the Magdalene and Christ. The Modern Magdalene is strictly a work of fiction and not meant to reflect or even suggest historical accuracy. There is no intention to sway, threaten, challenge, or cause the reader’s faith to falter in any way but rather simply to offer an alternative and more personal description of Mary Magdalene presented in post-apocalyptic common era.
