Bugsy, who delights in tormenting and destroying bugs, finds out what it is like to be small, helpless, and a victim of cruelty
From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 3?In the first of these easy readers, Bugsy is always tormenting and squashing insects until a menacing gold bug with lightning bolts on its wings gets revenge and a promise of good future behavior from the boy. In the second offering, Jane meets Molly and discovers that her new friend's mother is a mermaid. Despite the series name, neither book is likely to cause anyone to shriek. Both titles satisfy the usual requirements of beginning readers with straightforward story lines, short sentences, low readability levels, and illustrations that supply context clues. However, the stories are only average fare.?Gale W. Sherman, Pocatello Public Library, IDCopyright 1998 Reed Business Information, Inc.
