Elise O'Hagan is a Forensic Psychologist for a covert team reporting both to the Metropolitan Police and Interpol. Her job, to profile perpetrators of the most serious and violent crimes. What makes Elise the best in her field over her colleagues? Elise is an Empath which gives her the edge on the "why". Elise, or El to her friends and colleagues, is on the hunt for a serial killer known as the Puppeteer who is kidnapping and murdering debutants in London. That is until El becomes the focus of the puppeteers attention and finds herself on a forced secondment to Boston, in a bid to keep her safe and as far away from the killer as possible. The secondment, however, brings it's own challenges. El is confronted with a new team that comprises of an overbearing warlock and amorous shifter, who specialise in any case that involves the supernatural community in an effort to keep their presence a secret. El finds herself on her first supernatural murder case, trying to save the men of Boston who are literally having the life sucked out of them. At the same time she is battling with her developing empathic skills and emerging powers that have eluded her since the death of her parents in childhood. On top of all that she is having to manage her emerging feelings for an overbearing warlock who is fighting his own demons. Her time in Boston is sure to be anything but boring.
