They called her gifted, a savant, a genius…but in reality she was just a lost girl striving to control and compartmentalize every part of her life. Alexa Moore became a psychologist at 17, married at 19 and divorced by 21. A tragic accident in Ireland as a child claimed her mother and her memory. Life in America with her father gave her the stability and drive she needed to follow in her father’s footsteps, joining his very successful counseling firm. At first the work was rewarding but after a messy, painful, divorce she longed for more stimulating work. More challenging clients. Be careful what you wish for. Her father, Marc Moore, has a spate of “special clients” and Alexa wants to use her exemplary skills to help in their healing. She imagines celebrities, royalty, and all manner of interesting, exciting people. Little does she know the danger involved in counseling these “special clients”. After a hit and run accident targeting her father, she is left to take up her father’s latest case which to her utter disbelief involves a vampire, a shapeshifting skinwalker, and demon child. One of them will be the recipient of a unique gift that will lift their curse. But the window of time to help them is closing fast. It will be her job to find which one of these creatures is deserving of this esoteric and fragile gift which is fading day by day. Alexa is determined to help them all even though she is pretty sure one or more of them is plotting to kill her. With the help of her father’s mysterious partner, Jarit, she will travel into the unknown and begin to find herself and her future.
