The truth can be a weapon or a balm. For the residents of Prosperity, Arizona, it is both. Tourists come in droves to the hillside hamlet in search of antiques, art, and ghostly encounters, beguiled by the former boomtown’s decadent past.But the truth of what happened in Prosperity in its early days haunts the memories of Lloyd Chang and Mae Bennally, elderly friends who share a terrible secret about the town’s origins and their families’ dealings with its Prohibition-Era crime boss, Mad Molly Petrova. While Lloyd hopes the secret never comes to light, Mae prays that it does and believes the man to reveal it is recently arrived tourist Peter Jacoby, who possesses a striking resemblance to her deceased beloved and a powerful psychic ability he has kept hidden so long that he has forgotten it exists. When Peter stumbles upon the corpse of a local teen, his unique talent blossoms, thrusting him into a modern-day mystery, as well as Lloyd and Mae’s long-playing drama. With the help of a group of paranormal investigators and a psychic detective, Peter will connect with the town’s most restless spirits and learn to wield his power with a vengeance, threatening what Lloyd holds dear, and rocking Prosperity to its core.

She holds a master's degree from Arizona State University (culture and gender studies focusing on peoples of the American Southwest).
