The treasure hunting brothers Kiren and Jonah, Cor'lan the Pathfinder, and Radford the Mage have escaped the sinking Lost Tower of Fla'net. However, the journey to save their hometown of Lysta from an old enemy is far from over. Now they must travel far south and plunge into the Foxwood and the city of Lightrock where they hope to find the second piece of the Star. Finding it seems to be an impossible quest. Lightrock has been conquered by a tribe of Bezerkers whose only goals are murder and pillage. But their evil pales in comparison to what lurks beyond. They must defeat a threat so dark and sinister that if left unchecked could tip the world back into permanent darkness.
