And the many holidays and events in between...widely observed, or obscure.This "seasoning" is what makes many of our quiet, relatively dull lives more bearable. This seasoning, this celebration and savoring of the good as well as difficult times, living with relish even when we're in a "pickle," is what makes life's most modest fare taste like something served at Heaven's table...The pieces that make up this book have been written over the course of a life lived as husband and father and worker and friend over many years. Some of the sketches appeared in a family-owned newspaper based down the road from San Francisco. All of the pieces derive from everyday life and ordinary people and should strike a chord in anyone with a heartbeat, entertaining as they edify, and vice versa.
