While running in a Tucson wash, did Garland Preston find the dead body of a young Jane Doe or was it the other way around? Did she use Gar's experience in out-of-body travel to find him? Either way, Gar is already juggling two live girlfriends, and if three's a crowd, then four is just insane. He definitely doesn't need the hassle, but sometimes death can be a real cold, not to mention heavy, hand. This girl doesn't like being dead and she's not going to take it lying down. Gar finds himself drafted into the young woman's service, which means visiting some dangerous places on the astral plane and the physical plane in order to sort out her situation. But no matter what he does, will she ever let him alone? After all, dead girls need love too.
