Ember Awakening: The Kirabo Lawless Trilogy Volume 1

The four regions of Valora exist in a constant state of conflict and tension. With the nationwide stalemate on the verge of ending, war is imminent. While most teens are concerned with graduation and college applications, Kirabo Lawless has the mandatory burden of joining his region’s Special OPS Task Force on his eighteenth birthday—all because of a condition he was born with. He soon discovers that his removal from home is only the beginning. After meeting others like him, he is thrust into a dangerous journey that tests his strength, integrity and will to survive. Along the way, he has to decide who he can trust, and how to protect his family, all while fighting for his life.

About the Author

K.J. Johnson is a military brat born in Albany, NY to two Active Duty parents that served the U.S. NGB for 20+ years each. As far as military children go, he was lucky enough to only move once. In 1999, he moved to Virginia where he grew up. K.J. explored many hobbies ranging from dance to martial arts. In fact, he studied Taekwondo Do for about 6 years until he earned his 2nd Dan Black Belt and became a Junior Olympian in 2003 and 2005. Although he enjoyed these activities, writing has been his true passion. Starting in elementary school, he would write short stories for teachers. As he got older, he delved into poetry. Writing mostly free verse poems, he would read them at my parents' promotion ceremonies to celebrate their respective rise through the ranks. In order to develop his craft, he studied creative writing and other writing-intensive course in school. Currently, K.J writes fiction novels in the Supernatural genre.
