Kelly Miller doesn't believe in the paranormal, despite it being his rural Kansas town's claim to fame. He's seen nothing to support the tales of Victorian-Era cults spread by the locals and exploited by televised ghost hunters. The lack of evidence doesn't mean it never happened, though. His skepticism ends after he takes a job relocating an abandoned cemetery. The rumors gain credibility when he finds the twisted corpse of a woman buried alive in a long-forgotten grave. In another coffin, more than bones come up from the ground, and something evil escapes. The hushed tales of curses gain credibility as misfortune spreads, and people tear themselves apart. After witnessing it firsthand, Kelly questions his sanity. He knows these things aren't possible, but maybe there was a reason people were being buried alive in the old cemetery, and someone has to put it back.
