From the Publisher
The women in "Dove" are all "normal" mature women, some with families, who have chosen to follow the "nature religion" known as Wicca or witchcraft. The truth of the story depends on their religious conviction and their belief that there may be a sentient nature to the planet. They feel that there is an Earth Mother Goddess who can speak to them when the planet needs help. They believe that who better for the world to call out to for help then women who felt an affinity with the sacredness of the land? Years after the main character has received the first messages, she takes a gamble and shares her secrets with the other women, knowing even fearing that as priestesses of the Wicca they will either accept what she has to tell them or will label her outright insane! It is the courage and faith of these women, and their love of their families and others that bonds them and enables them to continue their work. The messages initially told them that this would take longer that they had ever worked in the past, and they had accepted that guidance. Xanna has a personable, believable way of telling this story.
