A Moment Of War

PrologueWhat does it mean to move on? I live in a place known as Bastion, a large walled city, built on top of a mountain. Not many people probably know that this place exists, nor do they even care. We live isolated from the rest of the world, but whether it’s through choice or not, I am not sure. We are the keepers of an artifact known only as ‘The Book’, which was left by the cities original leader who died a long time ago. The town governed amongst his disciples now. They all control an individual guild and district of their own given to them by him, and together they run the city as a sort of council through the rules left in The Book. Many have come to call them the Seven Guild Leaders. At a certain age you can join one of the guilds, and for me, that age was three years ago. Even still, I haven’t exactly had much to do with myself, not after she died. All I have done with myself is wander throughout the Rose district… one of the seven in Bastion. The place I was born, and a place I despise. I’m the only family I have left. I don’t know why I am still going anymore… but, perhaps all I need is a purpose. Something to do. Perhaps it is time I joined a guild myself.
