It has been fifty years since the last infection, due to the vaccine. The year is 3000 CE, and the human population has decreased drastically during the 21st century due to war, famine, and self-destruction. Therefore, remaining countries within North America, Europe, Asia and Africa created the Union Project. This project allocated national resources and utilized advanced technologies to recreate inhabitable secondary nations where people can live together in harmony. Mai Asher, a college dropout, resides on the U.S. Union Island. Despite being known for violence, Mai moves into the 6th state of the Island to break free from her past. However, one night on her way home from work, Mai is attacked by a gang called the Red Crew. After surviving the brutal attack that should have killed her, Mai finds herself infected with the disease known as Wendigo Psychosis- the first case in fifty years. This virus causes genetic mutations which allow for the human body to crave and seek sustenance from the raw human flesh. No longer a human being, and thus a wanted woman by the Union government, Mai has nowhere else to go. Mai is then forced to join a terrorist organization known as “The Seed,” run by Wendigos. There, she attempts to accept her new identity with the help of the two brothers Kai and Ash who, both have a dark past of their own.
