Delilah's Shadow

Delilah and Hummingbird are twins separated at birth in a brutally horrific manner. Both girls were born with extraordinary powers, able to inhabit the minds of the simplest creatures to the most complex. Delilah grows up in control of her power from birth, abandoned at a fire station by the witch who killed her mother. Delilah grows up in a girl’s home until she decides to use her power to move among people like a ghost, learning from the minds of others, taking what she wants, making anyone she wishes forget they ever saw her, and honing her power to its fullest. The witch who killed the twin’s mother raises Hummingbird as a daughter hidden away high on a mountain, only knowing the forest animals as her friends, far from people. Unlike her twin, Hummingbird is not born with total control of her power and learns to use it on the mountain animals, seeing through their eyes and making them do her child-inspired bidding, guided every step of the way by her captor. The twins share a bond that Delilah uses to keep an eye on her sister from afar until she is old enough for a showdown with the witch who killed her mother and stole her sister. The confrontation between the three women leaves Delilah in a coma, and her sister free from the witch she thought was her mother. Confused and lost, Hummingbird struggles with her identity and stumbles upon a serial killer on a lonely dark road, who quickly discovers how powerful little Hummingbird is.
