A Well Ordered Marriage

After their wedding, Harriet sets the rules for Peregrine. But it is not long before she is obliged to take down her cane from its peg behind the door. Poor Peregrine is quite unable to please the ladies in his life. His piano teacher, Miss Dingle, spanks him with an old violin bow and the red-haired Irish housekeeper, Molly Doyle, treats him to a thrashing with her husband’s belt. Peregrine’s adjustment to his well ordered marriage takes place against the background of a major police investigation, led by handsome Inspector Mark Bowman.
