Nine Lives (The Lake Pontchartrain Mysteries Book 1)

The lack of faith Sam carried with him for years had never given him reason to pause for a moment until a tragedy on a rain-slicked road rearranged his and his son’s life permanently. As Sam drudges through life as a widower as well as a single parent, concepts begin to take form that make him believe that the tragedy of a few months ago may not have been an accident, but a design of fate that somehow he had evaded. While everyday life revolves around him, he begins to see ominous happenings that point to a reality of what might have been: his own death. Eventually, his lack of faith is exchanged for fear as he concludes that it is not his life that is in jeopardy but quite possibly his soul. With guidance from a close friend of the family, Sam journeys south to a city that is known for its passion for the supernatural and occult, only to find a more menacing presence that throws his being into chaos and threatens the very lives of the people around him.
