Shadow in the Courthouse

Shadow in the Courthouse

Clay Masterson stood outside the red brick building staring up at the third-floor window. His heart nearly stopped beating when for one second he forgot to breathe. Gasping for air, he swallowed hard and stepped back, edging his way to the street curb. Suddenly aware he was alone, he looked around the city square and was greeted with darkness. He felt his body quiver as he was overcome with fear. Tilting his head backward, he again focused his gaze on the window. They were still there. A pair of fiery red eyes. And they were staring right at him!
