It's called the Rot, a plague that is slowly spreading throughout the known world. In its wake, it leaves behind death and the things born from it that devour life. And while the countries of the world both suffer, flee, and battle against these creatures known as the Ashen, the City of Life endures. Within a vast desert wasteland, a gift from the gods keeps the Rot at bay, all the same as creates an oasis of life for them to survive and prosper. But rather than help to find a cure for this blight, the king closes the gates to the City of Life to both hide and protect the gift from the world's end. But desperation creates the greatest adversary for the City of Life. Others beyond the wall now seek the gift that creates the oasis and the very sanctuary that the king enclosed away. Some would be willing to negotiate, while others would only bring war to the very gates. And others yet find they are unwilling pawns in a greater attempt to reverse the Rot, and prevent the end of all life. The adventure begins with the first volume, Beneath the City of Life.
