Her whole life, Mary Abbot lived without a mother or anyone to inform her of her family curse... The curse of vampirism.
That's where the problem comes in, you see, 1880 is the year where secret vampire hunting a have started becoming a thing and Mary being a completely new vampire, the age 18, literally, not 200, not 90 but simply 18, she's definitely going to struggle to survive.
And just to add to Mary's list of miseries, she gets sold as an illegal slave to the very man who started the vampire huntings. But on the upside she meets her same age vampire best friend and the engaged, very human love of her life.
He grows to accept Mary for who she is but will Mary accept him?
Even better, will Mary get killed?
