Jake Forest's effort to entice his high school heartthrob to date him by making her jealous backfires and he finds himself in a tempestuous relationship with racy, seductive, and often, manipulative Janis. They elope and are soon living in Portland where he finds part-time employment in a metropolitan hospital. With little income, no savings, and dismal prospects, Jake joins the Air Force. His duties take them from the small rural community in northwest Oregon into the Deep South and back to the Oregon coast. About the Author

James Seloover grew up in the Pacific Northwest. He completed a tour in the Air Force and attended Oregon College of Education, Oregon State University. He retired from retail management and returned to school at Spokane Community College and obtained a degree in Web Development. He has written two literary novels, "A Bed of Needles and "The Trouble Way." He is working on a third. He lives with his wife, Paula, in Des Moines, IA. His days are spent babysitting for a 3-year-old grandson, reading, writing, assisting authors to publish their works, making movies, and going to the gym.
