The Third Bride

The events surrounding Dracula are seen from the prospective of the youngest bride in this retelling of a classic horror tale. Serephine de Bachaumont, youngest daughter to the Count of Auxerre, grew up in France just before the Revolution. Even though she is only a member of the minor country nobility living outside Paris, Serephine cannot escape the revolutionary Terror. Her family in peril, she is forced to flee her homeland in a desperate escape to Austria where she tries to start a new life abroad as an emigre. Her future take a sudden turn when confronted by supernatural forces and a mysterious nobleman from the East, Count Dracula. Swept up in Dracula's wake, Serephine finds that her will is no longer her own and she is more prisoner than bride. From the gilded palace of Versailles and the sun kissed lands of the Mediterranean to the dark forests of Transylvania Serephine tries to navigate dangers all around her while still trying to retain her humanity in the face of incredible peril. This is her story. The story of the Third Bride.
