What happens when you mash various childhood fairy tales and put them in the hands of a twisted individual?You get The Cursed Black Root.Being kidnapped, Hanzel and Gretel find themselves in a survival situation that leads to a lifetime together of love and bliss. Living the simple life was their way and that is the way they wanted it. Conceiving children was a challenge and one day Gretel was able to bear a child. But tragedy struck when she lost the child to unfortunate accident. Years later, after harvesting Black Ginger Root and making a special dessert for her husband, Hanzel, she gave her child a second chance. Gretel did not realize what she had created and what horrors she placed upon her home. Everything starts of sweet and innocent but very quickly leads to the reality of what she had inadvertently created: a flesh hungry pastry has risen from the bowels of her oven.

About the Author

If you are reading this, you are about to embark on a tale of J.W. Chovan.  A self-taught drawer and storyteller from a young age and never realized his potential until he wrote his first short story for his college Literature Class.  Graduating with his Associates in Computer Science in the IT-Networking Specialist Program from Chippewa Valley Technical College, jobs were hard to come by.   But taking the knowledge and love for technology unlocked his creative juices.  Mainly a science fiction, horror, and fantasy writer new ideas come to him almost daily.Being a loving father and spouse, juggling a full-time+ job, and writing is a struggle to balance. But with the love and support of his loved ones he makes it through.  J.W. Chovan enjoys time with his loved ones and always thinks about them.He is very proud of all of them.  J.W.Chovan loves various types of metal and electronic music; the heavier, the darker,the better. But he enjoys many types of other music depending on his mood.  Other than writing the most psychotic stories that come to his mind, he enjoys drawing, various art forms, cooking, grilling,singing karaoke, and fishing.  Enjoy his tale of terror.
