Drawing inspiration from hallowed cinematic ghost stories from The Uninvited to House on Haunted Hill to The Haunting to Legend of Hell House, the writer of A Year in the Borderlands, the Krakenstein Chronicles and Mad Sky takes you on a chilling roller coaster ride to the heights and depths of the human mind in Ghost Hunter. The strange experiments conducted by eccentric millionaire James Trelayne, his wife Marguerite and Dr. Brandt Hemming yielded only the stuff of local gossip in the quaint English village of Biddlecombe back in the late 1800s. But the secrets their bizarre work unearthed have persisted in the windswept halls of the long-abandoned Leeward Inn, where they eagerly wait for those whose trespass would bring them that which they most desire. To this all but forgotten monolith, set atop a cliff on the Devonshire coast, come American “ghost hunters” Spectra Investigations. Still reeling from a tragedy, the determined squad arrives at the Leeward armed with equipment, resolve…and a tantalizing private hotel register kept by the Leeward’s manager and found by Spectra’s respected founder, Dr. Paul Rindelle, which appears to reinforce the old stories about the inn and its highly unusual owners and only permanent residents. Things seem quiet at first, but that calm is a façade hiding an unimaginable darkness. Team leader Dayla McCale, her daughter in tow, soon finds herself in a shocking new reality as she and the rest of her team, including nervous “celebrity” newcomer Tilly Vanderheim, come face to face with the truth: that time and mortality can be relative terms… …and some people are even more dangerous when they’re dead. Rated MA-17 (D,S,L,V) for a few scenes not suitable for all ages.
