Valley Falls was once a proud mining town, but journalism student Keira Schere finds one thing odd with this claim: there is no mine. As part of her thesis research she sets out to locate the old mine and discover why it's been hidden. The reason is something that neither she nor anyone else at the college is prepared for: vampires. For the past century they have been using the old mine as a home - one they viciously protect. After she is attacked and nearly killed, her life, and that of the three passersby who came to her aid, spirals down a dark road the leads to the supernatural.
