Armando is trapped in a flat, purposeless life chained as the sole caretaker to an emotionally-broken mother and largely ignored by an indifferent uncle. He grows bitter and more resentful everyday watching those around him preparing for promising futures including the girl he loves. Until the day AngelSons, LightBreed, come to kill him. It is the soldiers of Hell who pull him from danger and from his cold, gray life. He is one of them, HellBreed, they explain and they can give him what he has always lacked: purpose and power. He leaves with them and learns about their war; the Great War that tumbled long ago from the halls of Heaven and Hell onto Earth. He learns what it means to be a son of Hell as well as the duty and the danger that comes with it. The only problem with any of this is-- Armando isn’t sure he wants to fight on the side of evil.
