About the Author

In 1947, after 15 years as a comic artist, Ohio-born Milton Caniff did something that no cartoonist had ever done - he left one successfully syndicated strip to start another from scratch, in complete editorial control for the first time. He released it under his own copyright and synidcated it himself. that strip was Steve Canyon.
