“Welcome to Purg!” is the story of Marcus, a normal person from present-day Earth, who wakes to find himself in Purgatory. Through a bureaucratic error, he winds up as a physical being. He is immediately befriended by a large, troll-like creature, who becomes his guide and caretaker. This caretaker provides a lot of explanation into how “Purg – as the locals call it” works, and about the nature of the universe, , the afterlife, religions, and sin. Marcus’ unique status as a physical person quickly attracts the attention of the Queen of Hell, who tries to capture him amid her own political problems. The story follows Marcus and his new friends as they try to keep him out of the clutches of the Queen, explore Purgatory, and maybe even save his soul while all Hell breaks loose.This book has adult situations, religious satire, humor, and a good bit of picking on modern life, in the style of a fantasy novel. Think "Lord of the Rings" meets "Fifty Shades of Grey" in a Dungeons and Dragons style tale... If you're devoutly religious I suggest skipping this one.
