For decades, the people of Zalandria suffered under the cruel reign of Darnus, King of Mornova and Emperor of All Zalandria. In the wake of the assassination of his eldest son and heir, his middle sons seize the opportunity to overthrow their father and restore peace and freedom. They soon discover, however, that peace is impossible — a renegade wizard and Darnus's youngest son plot the return of the evil god, Ma'ag, and claim power over the entire world.
